We built a 7000 sq ft post and beam barn that has geothermal for heat and AC. The next logical step was to install solar power to continue our goal of becoming a little more “green” in the “Quiet Corner” of Connecticut.
We also chose to add solar for our late 1700′s house in the belief that, even in an old house, anything we can do to help reduce our electric footprint is a positive.
After extensive research and discussion with friends who had also gone solar, we selected Real Goods. Our Sales Rep, Gordon, and the design group worked to maximize the benefit to us in their design and were sensitive to the visual impact of the project.
The installation team did an impressive job in December, in spite of harsh weather and icy conditions on our roofs. Workers arrived on time, in good humor, and did a clean, professional job. We were particularly impressed with their electrician, Louie, who we joked had moved into our basement. The electrical hookup for the house was not easy and he handled each hiccup along the way with ease. The team promised to have us connected and running by the end of 2013 and delivered.
We are very glad that we did the solar installation for both buildings and would recommend Real Goods to anyone who is considering solar.
